Well I took Lew's advice (trusting him once again) and bought a growler
of Hurricane Kitty, which was the only Keegan Ale on tap at my local
beer store. Lew was right again.(anybody surprised?) It was a
fabulously hoppy beer, close to Rogue's I2PA, but for less than half the
price. Thanks Lew, I never would have tried it without your advice.
It's always nice to find a new, great beer. I can't wait to try their
other offerings.
My real mission was to find the elusive Celebration Ale. For at least 5
years, this bear has ALWAYS showed up by November 1st at the latest.
This year nobody has it! I've checked around at various web sites
(
www.beeradvocate.com,
www.ratebeer.com, etc.) and see that SNCA is in
NYC, Mass., New Jersey, Ohio, Pa.! Everywhere but
Kingston/Poughkeepsie, NY. Hurricane Kitty is holding me over tonight,
but I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. Has anybody spotted it anywhere
near the Kingston/Poughkeepsie area? I openly admit that I am an SNCA
addict and I am happy being so.
