Creme Brulee -- Is It Supposed to Be Sweet?

A wonderful vanilla-y dairy taste is exactly what I like about a good
creme brulee! Instead of just "sweet" I enjoy the cool texture, the
subtle flavor and the mouthfeel.
Did you use enough vanilla? A fresh bean?
