Last Christmas my grandchildren and I (and assorted drop ins) spent a
couple of weeks at the beach house. A pair of Will Wag Tails had built
their nest quite low down in an old pepper tree. They had three
youngsters with barely any fetahers whn we first arrived. One got
pushed out of the nest early on (very small nests) and we did not have
much hope for it, however, the parents continued to raise it on the
ground. All three babies were fledged and flying before we left for
home.

Very brave and feisty little birds, I have seen them chasing off
crows, magpies and even hawks. I got too close to the nest a couple of
times and got kicked in the head.
