At the Mexican market here, the checker will be speaking Spanish
mile-a-minute with the previous customer. When I get to the head of
line, she switches to English with zero hesitation, before I say a
word. Maybe because I am whiter than Conan O'Brien.

Those years I spent in German class in high school were a complete
waste. I wish now I had chosen Spanish instead. It seems
completely obvious; I don't know what I was thinking back then.

Mostly the Supermarcado sells the same stuff you can get anywhere,
but their meat is often cheaper and their produce is a *lot*
cheaper.

Spinach is an anti-food that nobody should eat.
