Yer safe, so far. As long as you have a stand alone computer with a
hard drive (HDD), there's no need to get alarmed or sucked into that
cloud computing scam.

Now, the thing that will kill my internet participation is user based
billing (UBB). It's been in the wings for over 12 yrs, but "they"
have been waiting to spring it on us. Well, it's here, in abbreviated
form. Right now, it's jes based on total content per month with max
limits. Eventually, it will progress to fee-based billing for every
action. Every email, every link followed, every mouse click on the
net, will be billed. When that happens, my computers will become
planters and I'll take up gardening.
