I heard that they didn't keep the cheese-cutting/wrapping surfaces cleaned
off properly. Again, the prepackaged ones like the goat cheese logs or the
cream cheese in boxes are fine. (TJ's is where I usually buy those - good
price, etc.)

Some of the cut cheeses are (IMO) tasty party treats so I just swoop in
shortly beforehand and purchase them.

I had a wedge of Gruyere that lasted for a while but I don't recall its
original packaging.
