Our new cats are quite small. I thought Jazzy was a kitten when I first saw
her but she was 2. She only weighed 8 pounds when we got her and I don't
think she has gained. She is very muscular but seems to have no fat on
here.
Bali is super skinny and she's very long. So much so that when she runs,
it's as though the front of her and the back of her are going different
directions. She looks like one of those Slinky Dogs. And sometimes when
she lays down her front half and back half will be going different
directions. The Vet said he could tell why we named her Ballerina. She
likes to stand on her hind legs, put her front legs up high in the air and
spin in circles.
Both of them seem to eat a lot though. More than Maui ever did. They are
getting the Fancy Feast Appetizers for breakfast. If I give them tuna or
tuna and chicken they will each eat a whole package. They don't like the
other flavors as well.
Still have not found a canned or pouched food that they really like. Odd
because they would wolf down the Wellness brand when we first got them. But
then I made the mistake of giving them the Appetizers and they love those.
They eat the NOW! grainless dry food. And they always want treats but they
are picky as to what they will eat. They don't like the soft ones and no
dairy flavors.
Jazzy's fur has gotten a lot softer since we got her. When we first petted
her, her fur was very coarse. Then it started to soften a little bit but
then it would get coarse again. But now it's like a kitten. I used to be
able to tell which cat I had when they got into my bed just by touching
them. But now I can't.
They do have different voices though. Bali's voice is changing I think.
Once in a while she lets out a big cat meow but usually it's the tiny little
kitten one. Jazzy has a deeper, louder voice but she is far less vocal than
she was when we first got her. She used to talk to me a lot. But now she
doesn't.
