Find an old waffle maker that hasn't been used to death, preferably
with a non stick finish. My 1960's GE still does a good job. We
found another maker a couple of years ago. I can't locate it since we
upended the kitchen this summer for new flooring but it also works
well. We bought one in the 1990's that had a plastic outside. Never
worked worth a darn.
Here is the recipe that came with my mother's waffle iron. I am about
your age so take a guess on the age of the waffle iron. It has also
worked well for me.
