I just use Krusteaz Belgian Waffle mix and my Carbon iron. Spray a bit
first, never any sticking.
I tried the Carbon's Golden Malted Waffle mix, and it was good. But in a
taste test with the Krusteaz it was not much better (particularly when you
slather on the butter and jam/syrup), and is more expensive.
