I'm amazed at where I see people walking or riding a bike. Nothing around,
for a long distance, but a person would be walking along the road. In the
states, many people complain about a one block walk.

Fuel is expensive due to taxes. They also pay that price for heating oil.
Gasoline is about $0.50 more per gallon. Even if fuel was cheap, you'd still
want a smallish car here anyway. The roads are often narrow and twisting.
