Doh!! Sorry. "facebook" in white lowercase font, then the three icons,
then the search bar that says "Search" in it on the left and has a
magnifying glass at the far right end. On my landing page, there is no
other search bar. The only empty area for text entry under the search
bar on that page is the "What's on your mind?" update bar.

After I do a search for RFC, R.F.C., RFC o, RFC on, RFC on Facebook, RFC
on Facebook, etc., etc., using (here we go again, gotta prove it 'cuz
I'm officially dumb as a bag of rocks you know) Facebook search bar that
says "Search" in it on the left and has the magnifying glass at the far
right end, next to where it says "facebook" and the three icons for
friend requests, messages and notifications, and the search FAILS, the
page that appears has the Facebook search bar (next to the three icons,
etc., etc.) and a second Facebook search bar below and to the right of
the first one. The second Facebook search bar already contains the terms
of the search that was just done.
