It's a new years eve thing for Germans and Poles. It's supposed to be
the first thing you eat as the clock changes to the new year for good
luck. I just got a jar at Costco only because it was cheap and I had
a taste for it. Costco here carries Vita brand but I prefer Noon
Hour. I love the stuff and eat it all year. It does go on sale in
December but around here it's always in stores including Costco.
