I know, but someone what calls him/her self a chef needs to be in
charge of something. The word chef means chief. For example Chef
Garde Manger is someone who is in charge of that section, basically a
cold section doing mirrors, fat sculptures etc. Chef Saucier, someone
who is in charge of the sauce station.
