You are absolutely right. My somewhat (?) mistrustful nature would
not let me relegate all my money affairs to some manager/whatever,
but then I don't have complicated finances the way performers often
do.

Money is a powerful corrupter. Sometimes it's even the parents who
abuse the money, though sometimes they just make loser investments.
