She may have been talking about 'koekkruiden' which is a typical Dutch
spice mix, used in speculoos (type of Biscoff cookie), spice bread, and
sometimes even in hearty dishes. It's a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger,
clove, cardamom and pepper, and it 's typically associated with winter
dishes in Holland and Belgium.
