I think yours is the same size bottle. The cap is tamper proof
because that's how most everything is packaged nowadays. The local
folks who produce maple syrup all know each other (same as local honey
producers) and they all use the same styles of bottles... I do know
that this particular style bottle was used because these people
usually use a small barrel type bottle but they said that they
couldn't get that one at the time. The tamper proof caps are put on
as a unit, the seal breaks when opened. These people don't sell
their syrup, they produce only enough for their own use and some small
amount for gifts... lots of locals around here do the same because
they are very proud of their small operations... these folks have 150
acres with 50 sugar maples scattered about... they got no sap this
year due to the warm winter... they are retired and this is one of
their hobbies. There's another neighbor right down the road from me
that sells some of their eggs on the honor system, each egg is stamped
with their name. The syrup bottle has their name on the other side
but I'm not going to post their name, address, and phone number on
usenet.
