No need to drink it straight.

I love the flavor of Absinthe-- but have used it sparingly since my
first taste. I'll dip a stirrer in it and stir a glass of ice water.

I've got a really fine tasting George Stagg bourbon that is 142 proof.
When that's my sipping bourbon for the night [instead of my regular
80? proof Evan Wiliams], I just add some filtered water. Doesn't
hurt the flavor any, but I can still walk to bed.
