A few years ago I had a meal in a Carrow's restaurant - a relatively small
Southern California based chain. It so happens that the manager was the one
who rang up my payment at the cash register. He asked me how I like the meal.

I explained that the food was quite tasty, but the coffee was surprisingly
abysmal and putrescent, even for "restaurant coffee".

He replied, "I'm sorry you didn't like our coffee." He then looked around to
see if anyone was in the immediate area, and said in a lower tone of voice:
"It is pretty bad, isn't it? I won't drink the stuff either."
