I have limited experience with logs in an offset Jesse. Mostly I've learned
that
you need to get them down to 2" dia or about that. Bigger and they
won't light off fast enough and smaller they try to flare up on
you. The firebox being not all that large, about 10" lengths are most
manageable. If you leave that chimney open, you can add raw logs
to the fire with out much hazard. You'll have to crack the firebox vent
an inch or so to allow sufficient draft to defeat the ******* creosote
production. This means that you'll have to work on fire size rather
then combustion controll. Look in your yellow pages for tree surgeions
and such. They have to haul that stuff off and then they sell it.
