A toaster oven can't compete with a pop-up for toasting bread... two
very different appliances... I doubt many use a toaster oven for
toasting bread, mostly they're used as a mini-oven. Bread doesn't
toast well/evenly in the horizontal postion, even early toasters that
were set on the stove top were designed to toast bread in the vertical
position.
