Have you ever blown a tire? I blew two in one trip from NC to NY
in 1970. 1965 Corvair Corsa- doing 75 on I95. First one was a
rear tire. That scared me a bit but no damage was done. A few
hundred miles later I blew a front one. Love those cheap
re-treads.

If a 65 corvair with a very tired, inexperienced driver can survive a
blowout or two-- I think you're overestimating the danger there.

If you crash because of a blown tire, you're either really unlucky or
you panicked and did something stupid.
