Yup.... hardwood fired, off-gassing aromatics. :-) Seriously, it does have
a built-in propane burner to start the logs, and then it can be engaged to
hot-hold the meat at 145F when the 'Q is done. And I'm sure the burner will
also be useful for jerky production. One thing's fer sure, though; I won't
be able to duplicate Jim's Lazy-Q methods. The chimney and intake is
thermostatically set to shut down if the temperature exceeds 350F, even
though the firebox is 5/8" steel.
