Golf carts are legal on most in-town roads, just can't use them on the
interstate or on county roads where the speed limit exceeds the
capability of the golf cart. As long as the cart is fitted with the
manditory equipment such as turn signals, mirrors, and such they are
as legal for road use as a moped.

Golfing communities like where I live, sure. But once you get out of the
community the speed limit on is 50 MPH. I've never seen a golf cart that
will go that that fast. It is dangerous and ill advised to drive it on the
highway.
