Hate to be caught defending Sheldon in public, but he's right on with his
spice buying philosophy. Marketers want to try to convince us that spices
still need to be packed across the desert from the orient on camel back and
be defended from marauding bandits, and are thus worth the exorbitant
prices they set. But places like WalMart and Dollar Stores and Christmas
Tree Shoppe offer good quality in a lot of the more common spices at very
good prices.
