Default Buying Tomatoes that have good taste?

I finally solved the problem of "no taste or flavor" in the tomatoes I
use to make a tomato sandwich. I bought a can of whole peeled tomatoes
at the grocery store, cut them in half while draining all the juice
off of them, plopped them on the bread with mayonaise...tomato
sandwich heaven!
