If you understand how fridges work, then you would be able to comprehend
the situation better. Car airconditioning systems aren't a lot different
in operation though having iceblocks flying out of the vent at you isn't
a desirable outcome for those.
Anyway, the only part of the works with any real connection with the
inside of the freezer are the evaporator coils. The thermostat would be
there as well but it's only sensing internal temps. The rest of the
works are outside the box!
