He said they have a nice new product. Although the peppers might be new to
them, they are hardly new. Isn't Von's related to Safeway? I do not find
that the Safeway's here have the biggest or best selection of produce.
However the one on Bay Farm Island on Alameda did have really good stuff.
Huge produce selection and I'd often buy heirloom tomatoes there. I once
spent a nice chunk of change on fancy produce and made two very artistic
veggie platters for a party. And then? The woman who had invited me to her
potluck wasn't even home! I never did learn for sure where she was but I
did hear that gambling and excessive drinking were involved.

So there we were, my daughter and I, walking back to my van with the veggie
platters. My friend saw us. Said she was headed to her friend's house for
dinner. Their husbands were away. Said they had a little extra food so
rather than waste the veggies, we could go over there. The kids really did
love the veggies but there were so many, we barely made a dent in them.

Anyway... That was the last time I put any effort into food that I made for
parties at that person's house. They did have parties most every weekend.
