You quite correct. It is called a misspelling, whether an intentional
error or a slip of the finger. In this case it was the latter, because
I know how to spell the word. Though corrected in a subsequent post, it
is and will always remain an error in that usenet entry; these posts
never die. It's sad, but it will be accompanied by hundreds, if not
thousands of others I've produced in my 20+ years on usenet.
