I've been very lucky to live in places where the water tasted just fine.
In Memphis the tap water came from artesian wells. I don't know where
the water in Saint Helena comes from but I can assure you it's not marsh
water. Straight out of the tap, it tastes just fine to me.
The only place I ever lived where we had to filter water was in
Thailand. My parents bought a big crock with a filter and added a few
drops of Clorox to it. (ugh!) That didn't work out for drinking. They
finally bought one of those water coolers (like you see in offices and
places of business) and had jugs of drinking water delivered.
