scone recipe needed
Scottish Scones
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
Topping
1 tablespoon butter or margarine -- melted
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet. In med. bowl, combine
flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; mix well. With
pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add milk all
at once; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. On floured surface,
gently knead dough 5 or 6 times. Place on greased cookie sheet; press into a
6" round, about 1" thick. Brush top with melted butter. In small bowl,
combine sugar and cinnamon; mix well. Sprinkle over top. Cut into 8 wedges;
separate slightly. Bake for 20-30 min. or until golden brown. Serve warm.
