do very special Sunday morning breakfasts.

2 cups Bisquick
1 egg
1 2/3 cups milk (fat free or 2% or whatever is okay)
2 Tablespoons lemon juice (bottled is okay)
4 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder

Whisk until smooth. Feeds two with a nice little stack for next day.

Thanks for the recipe. My Mama made the best hotcakes in the world. She
used flour for a base and added a little yellow corn meal to the batter.
It gave them a nice crunch and a light yellow color. We would start
eating when they started coming out of the skillet and knocked them out
one at a time. Dang..those the good old days..lol.

Cornmeal really makes a a huge difference in the flavor.

I would have to heartily agree. Just gave the warden a grilling on what she serves up for hot cakes is Hogsdon Mills version of Bisquick..as in a complete baking mix type deal. We tried the whole wheat version where you have to add your own eggs etc...but they was sorta like eating a bale of hay. Now she claims to like them but what does she know huh? Her's aint near as good as my Mama made...lol.
