More misinformation was the claim "Unlike many European Union
countries, Hungary is a nation where genetically modified (GM) seeds are
banned."

Hungary is in the EU. The EU Commission only allows the production of
GM crops under special license, and samples and tests crops in all
countries to ensure compliance. Hungary was found to have planted an
unintended, non-compliant GM crop and that's the reason it had to be
destroyed.
