It affects people's perception. When they first showed the young boy
photo, people really rallied around about the poor little boy that was
shot. Once they showed the more manly looking 17 year old in a
hoodie, public perception started to change.

Show people photos of a mean junkyard dog and a cute puppy and ask
which one they'd like to have living next door. Ask which one bit the
baby.

We put a lot of faith in appearance and make decisions based on it. Go
back to the Nixon-Kennedy debates.
