My grocery store options are few. I've posted before it's about 20
miles to grocery shop. I go to Publix.
There is a Food Lion across the street. That store is dingy and old; it
*really* needs a face-lift. It is allegedly less expensive than Publix.
But I found it depressing to shop there. My neighbor told me last
week she'd heard it was cheaper, too. But she didn't like the store,
either.
I could drive about 8 miles further and go to Piggly Wiggly. I've not
been to The Pig since I lived in Memphis. I shopped there in the
1980's. I haven't been to the one in Beaufort. But I can't imagine a
reason to drive an extra 8 or so miles just to shop there.
OTOH, The Pig does have a home grocery delivery option in this area.
I could drive further and buy groceries at WalMart. Never going to
happen. And I'm sure not driving to Savannah to take a look at Whole
Foods.
