That's the way it is these days...

About 6 years ago I wanted a LCD TV, after looking at all of them I
narrowed it down to a Sony and a Samsung. To me the picture looked as
good as each other. The Samsung was half the price of the Sony, so I
went with that. I later found out the panels themselves are identical.
