Killing the original idiot and ignoring them seems an adequate response.
It's not cowardice but giving the lowlife the respect they deserve. You
can always ignore them if they are quoted. There's always someone who
will read them and it is possible that the troll may have something to
say and you can change your mind about killing them but that is unlikely.
