I feel sorry for kids these days. They are missing out on a lot of fun
and god exercise. We were sent out of the house in the morning and
expected to be back for meal times. If we wanted to go off an adventure
my mother would pack a lunch for us.
We would head off on our bicycles and never worried about abductions or
perverts. We used to be dropped at the CNE to spend a day there. When I
was about 9 or 10 my mother dropped me and my younger brother off at the
street car terminal in the far west end of Toronto and we rode the
street car and bus to the east end to visit with my grandparents. During
my teens we hitch hiked everywhere. My best friend's family moved to a
small town north of where were grew up and my family moved 70 miles the
other way. We used to hitch hike back and forth almsot every weekend.
