Brown sugar substitute

I tried this when I was a kid. It sounds like a good idea but the
results aren't that convincing. It is, however, better than nothing.
Making a pecan pie would be a good idea. My guess is that it would taste
like a pecan pie made with molasses which would probably still be pretty
damn tasty.
