You didn't state if your chiminea was the patio variety (or
not). If it is, you're going to need to get some firebricks
to line the bottom to level it and so you can retain some
heat.

IMO: Consider building a real clay oven if you want to bake
in the back yard and enjoy your chiminea for what it is: an
inexpensive outdoor fireplace.
