I got rid of all sorts of things when Angela was little. I used to collect
miniatures. I stopped buying any new ones and made sure they were all up
high. I actually had to do this when I got Maui, my cat. I had a little
toy that I got from the dollar store. It was a Ferris Wheel with little
faux Hello Kitty cats in it it. Maui would use her mouth to take the little
plastic cats out. She liked to carry them around, spit them into the air
then swat them with her paw. She did the same with golf tees.

I also collect rocks. Most would not be of a size that a kid could swallow
but they sure could throw them. So those were put away. I also had to hide
things like pens and pencils and scissors for a time.

Amazing how much stuff you have to get rid of or hide for a kid. My house
is certainly not kid proof now and thankfully Jetta isn't the average
kitten. She is very well behaved. Although she did do some damage to my
new drapes, once I moved the chair away from them, she has no longer tried
to climb them.

Now if I could just figure out what it was that attacked my glider! We came
home last night and Angela called me into the kitchen with a panicked voice.
There on the deck is a rather old glider that I got for my birthday. A few
years back, a bird or something landed on the top and put a slice in it.
Then a duck landed on it (I saw this) and fell all the way though. Duck was
shaken but not hurt. I just removed the top and it was still usable.

But now? Bits of white stuffing are hanging out everywhere! Something got
on it while we were out yesterday and clawed the crap out of both the seat
and the back. Time to dismantle it now and get rid of it whenever we do a
dump run. Just need to find the time to do it and hope that it will come
apart. I can see rust on it so hope that the bolts and such are not stuck
like glue.
