I don't live in Toronto, but if I did I would probably vote for him. He
has some good ideas. A couple weeks ago he was fighting a plan by city
council to build low cost housing on the waterfront. I agree with him
on that one. Waterfront property is high demand, expensive land and I
think that housing money would be better spent on the buildings than on
the premium land.

Ford's predecessors were a little odd. Barbara Hall would not allow a
now famous local band to play at city functions because she objected to
their name... the Bare Naked Ladies. David Miller wanted to clamp down
on gun violence and instead of shutting down the after hours clubs where
most of the shootings were taking place, they shut down legitimate
shooting ranges that had been leasing space from the city. Those ranges
were so trouble free that most people did not even know they were there.
Under Ford's direction, the shootings were drastically reduced.
Apparently he drinks a lot, smokes pot once in a while and admitted to
having smoked crack. He has done his job effectively IMO.
