When I go to the flea market I wear a fanny pack. Who wants to be digging into a purse to pay a vendor and the possibility of knocking over displays? But my everyday handbag is a leather backpack purse. Leaves the hands free to get touchy-feely in stores without a purse sliding off the shoulder.

And nobody has mentioned how NASTY those cart seats are. Kids with diapers and/or spitting up, and some people plopping drippy meats in that area and you know they're not going to be bothered wiping that seat off when they are through. Purse bottoms can be filthy and women don't think they come home and sit it on the kitchen counter, dresser, or their bed.
