Ladies (and maybe some gents): purse sitting in shopping cart?

I just don't get the appeal of movie theaters any more. If you wait long
enough, you can see the movie in the convenience of your own home for free
and you can even eat good popcorn and not have to heft around a beverage
that is an accident waiting to happen!
I haven't been to the movies in over a year now. But for some reason, my
mom really loves going to them and Angela seemed to like them too. The
appeal wore off for Angela though once I got her Netflix. We just weren't
able to go what with all the stuff that was going on with my dad. We did
want to go to some shows (plays and dance shows) but were unable to do those
things either. Just too much else going on. I did not miss the movies
though! My mom used to insist on going to the first showing because at some
(but not all) theaters, the movie was cheaper. The concessions were not
cheaper though and because it was earlier in the morning than we would
normally even be up on the weekends, we wound up either sneaking some food
in or eating popcorn for breakfast. And most of the time I'd wind up just
falling asleep in there anyway. So a big waste of money for me!
