Pumping gas (was: Ladies (and maybe some gents): purse sitting in shopping cart?)

I've yet to see a self service petrol (gas) station where I live. All the
ones I use have attendants to do it for you. They also wash your
windscreen and check your oil and water (if you want them to). I'm quite
cool with that - and always give them a tip. Besides - it creates jobs for
people who might otherwise be amongst the unemployed and saves me having
to get up close and personal with the petrol which stinks and gives me a
throbbing headache if I inhale the fumes - Ugh!
