Yes, again... I can't help you with how long to cook them in your slow
cooker. I'd make the recipe entirely on the stove top or at least get
them started there.
Get started with it early because you can always turn it off if it
cooks in the time allotted and reheat for dinner, but pushing dinner
back can be problematic when you have no idea how long it will take.
