[REC & Review] Garlic Prawns in Lemon & Butter Sauce
My first attempt to cook raw shrimp or prawns! This is a recipe
that I found online and reworked to suite our tastes:
Garlic Prawns in Lemon & Butter Sauce
16 large prawns, peeled and deveined
1/4 C. butter, divided use
2 large cloves garlic, finely minced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 T. lemon juice
1 T. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
In large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 T. butter. Sauté
prawns for 2 minutes, or until just pink. Add garlic; do not brown.
Add remaining butter and stir until melted. Season with salt, pepper,
and lemon juice. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley. Serve
immediately, serves four.
Now the review: at first I thought this was kind of bland, and
wasn't sure it was worth the time it takes to devein and peel
that many prawns. Then I made sure each bite had some garlic &
sauce on it -- very good! Unfortunately, the family said it was
just "okay" (Husband isn't a seafood fan and Child is now 7 and
his tastes change daily), so I don't know if I'll make it again
soon...
