Painful. I hope you heal quickly and properly.

If you have glazed tile they're not very safe in kitchens, usually
tiles with a matte finish are used... unless you're going to change
the tiles I strongly suggest non-skid mats. I have hardwood floors in
my kitchen and I still have non skid mats in work areas. Lowe's has
nice ones, heavy duty rubber with strong carpeted top surface. Easy
to clean, vacuum indoors, wash outdoors with a garden hose and hang
over a fence in the sun to dry, and they last a very long time... mine
are ten years old and still look like new. When I bought them they
were stacked high at the inside entranceway, in two sizes; 3' X 4' and
3' X 5'... I have both sizes, they have beveled edges, and they do not
slip on the floor. They are very similar to this, may even be the
same brand but with a slightly different surface pattern. They also
allay fatigue from long periods of standing on a hard floor:

Also wear proper footwear.
