Or name them appropriately. ;-)

I _have_ raised modern bronzes for eating and if you do not eat them at
an appropriate age, they don't live very long. They get so big they can
hardly waddle! <G> Ladybird, the broad breasted white, should have had
this happen to her as well, but with Lucky Tom chasing her around for
mating, she keeps her weight down. I've had her now for 3 years and she
is doing well. She also lays the most FABULOUS eggs. Turkey eggs are
wunderful pan steamed with a little butter. I tried hatching some of
her first year eggs, but they did not hatch. I'm thinking next year that
if a Muscovie hen goes broody while Lady is laying again, I might try
letting them set them instead of using an incubator. Muscovie ducks are
big enough to set 6 or 7 turkey eggs.

The last time I raised three modern bronzes for eating, we named them
"Thanksgiving", "Christmas" and "New Years"! <G>
