You'll have to discuss this with sf, she's the one hung up on 'presentation' so it will 'look pretty.' But I have to admit I rarely slice a cherry tomato in half myself. I guess a person could putz around with the tomatoes to make sure they are all sitting up straight. But if I want smaller bite size pieces I just buy the smaller grape tomatoes.
