Yes, I have heard about the above before. We are fortunate here in Aus
because PETA don't seem to have much of a presence here.

Conversely, I do not like the RSPCA here either, because they have
become bureaucratic, corporate, money-hungry and frequently cause good
people unnecessary (and unwarranted) problems.
And, like PETA, the RSPCA is /very/ good at putting animals down.

Fortunately we have alternative organisations here more deserving of
support.
